Walkabout® MOTHER BINS and U.S. Tariffs
Harvesting equipment manufacturer Walkabout® MOTHER BINS said it should be able to avert higher costs this year from U.S. tariffs on imported goods.
South Dakota based WMB said 100% of the mother bins it sells in the U.S. are made in America. As well, they have numerous units of both mother bin models (the 4000+ Eastern Grey and the 6000+ Big Red) in stock and ready to ship.
The company said all Walkbout® MOTHER BINS are manufactured in a West Fargo, North Dakota plant. The mother bins are then delivered directly to the customer from the manufacturing facility or from the home office complex in South Dakota.
“When this company started in 2015, our founder, Dave Hedt, was committed to making sure this product was made in the USA,” said Crystal Kopecky, Director of Sales for WMB. “His decision at the time was based on a belief that US manufacturers would produce the highest quality product available. Today that decision is protecting our customers from an uncertain tariff landscape.”
Walkabout® MOTHER BINS recently reported its 2025 first quarter sales as comparable to 2024 first quarterly sales.
“With the labor shortages that farmers are facing today, they are forced to do more with less,” said Kopecky. “A Walkabout Mother Bin is the in-field storage solution that keeps farms of any size running at peak efficiency with less labor and equipment.”
A Walkabout Mother Bin provides grain farmers with a portable 4,000+ or 6,000+ bushel grain storage solution. Visit www.motherbin.com for more information.
